Upside is a free app all about getting cashback while fueling up the car, getting groceries or eating at restaurants. The app is very simple to use and there is a wide variety of rewards to choose, from bank transfers to PayPal to gift cards!
How to Earn Cashback
Connect a Card: In easiest way to earn it to connect a credit or debit card (you can also connect a fleet card). Simply enter the information, and you are all set! For those concerned about privacy, you are not required to put in your CVC for your card. And there is a way to still earn cashback without connecting a card!
Claiming Offers: On the home screen of the app, you are able to see offers and deals near you. After finding one you like, click on the offer to see more details about it. Then, claim the offer and make the purchase! If using a connected card, the cashback will automatically be rewarded once the purchase processes, typically in a few days. If you made a purchase with a card that's not connected, simply upload a picture of your receipt!
Make sure that whenever you refill on gas, go shopping, or go out to eat, take a look at local deals! They can save you a lot of money. Gas offers are usually around 5-10 cents/gal cashback, and restaurants/groceries are usually around 6% cashback, but can change depending on the location and if there are any limited-time promotions.
Rewards
Reward Options: There are a wide variety of rewards to choose from, mostly in the form of gift cards. Choose from 40+ options including Amazon, Kohl's, Google Play, PayPal, and more! Simply select the option you'd like, choose how much to cash out, then wait for the reward to come, usually in your email.
Minimum Cash Out: The minimum limit to cash out depends on what option you choose. Most gift cards require at least $10 in order to cash out. PayPal and bank transfers only needs $1.01 to cash out. However, there is a $1 fee on cash outs below $15. I would recommend waiting to cash out until you reach $15 to avoid that fee.
