All About Silencio

My personal favorite app, Silencio is a project all about recording noise pollution and turning it into useful data. Users use their phones to record noise levels either while walking around or at venues such as restaurants or businesses.
How It Works
Street Measurement: There are a variety different ways to earn in-app coins, which are useful. The primary way is through street measurement. During this, the app will record the decibel level of the surrounding area. Walk around to explore the area around you to cover hexes (which is how the map is divided). Earn coins for each hex covered and earn increased coins if it is the first time the hex has been explored. Walk around for a max of 30 minutes, then collect your rewards. Users can watch an ad to roll a spinner to increase rewards from 1.1x to 100x. I highly recommend doing this.
Check-Ins: The second way to earn is by venue check-ins. Simply walk close enough to a venue, start a measurement for 15 seconds, then answer the questions afterward (inside/outside, how difficult it is to have a conversation, and how crowded the venue is). If this is the first time the venue has been checked into, you'll earn a nice bonus. Note: some venues may not show up in the app. If so, you can submit a missing venue report to get it added. This seems to happen with newer stores.
Streak: A great day to boost in-app coin earnings is the daily streak. Simply do a recording (even just 5 secs) each day to increase your streak level. Get +2.5% earnings on all recordings, up to +250% based on the streak. Some nuance: coins earned through the streak bonus are not affected by the ad spinner nor does the bonus apply to the first time check-in. Also, if a user were to lose their streak, they can watch ads (I think three) to restore it.
Achievements: There are currently 23 achievements that can be earned. Each grant in-app coins. The easier ones are quick to complete and grant relatively few coins. The more difficult ones can give a massive amount of coins. These achievements range from covering hexagons, doing venue check-ins, or getting referrals. For example, the Globe-Trotter achievement grants 25k coins after covering 50,000 hexagons. These achievements not only grant a large amount of coins, it is a great way to track your progress!
Daily Mystery Bonus: A quick way to earn some raffle tickets is through the daily bonus. Simply watch an ad, then spin a wheel to earn some tickets! This can done up to three times every 24 hours.
Referrals: The last main way to earn is though referrals. When signing up, using a code will grant the person 200 in-app coins (my code: Silksong). The referrer will then earn a bonus of 20% of whatever their referrals earn.
Rewards
Raffle Tickets: In order to earn rewards, users are entered into a monthly raffle in which they can earn crypto and physical prizes. Earn 1 entry for each in-app coin earned that month. There is also an OG bonus, which gives you 20% of the last 12 months in-app coin earnings as additional raffle tickets.
Raffle Rewards: At the end of the month, the raffle will end. After about a week (this gives time for cheaters to be removed), users can claim their rewards. Most will get crypto and a lucky few will get a physical prize which varies month to month. The great thing is that no matter what, you will get some crypto. More entries means more chances to get more. For example, I had roughly 300k tickets and earned 66k in crypto for the March 2025 raffle. The token earned is $SLC, Silencio's cryptocurrency. Users can decide to either to cash out their earnings or stake it. Note: For US users, there are currently no US exchanges to send your $SLC to. Plans are being made to add some, so just hold tight.
Staking: Users can stake their earned tokens to get increased earnings. After raffle rewards are claimed, users can decide if they want to stake. If they do, they can decide for how long, from 3 months to 18 months, and how much to stake (25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%). Those tokens are locked until the period is over. While the tokens are staked, your OG bonus will increase, giving more raffle tickets for future raffles. Since I am in the US and I can't cash out my crypto, I have staked all of my earnings so far. My OG bonus is 170% (as of April), so I am earning a lot of extra raffle tickets. There are more benefits to staking that have been announced, but no details have been shared about when they are coming or what they will be.
Shop: One last use of in-app coins is the shop. Users can user their coins to get coupons for various products such as Wi-Fi routers, other DePIN projects, and more. Take a look!
